PEORIA - Summer is right around the corner and the Peoria Park District is gearing up by hiring some extra help.
The park district is looking to fill between seven-hundred and a thousand part-time and seasonable jobs this year.
Hiring began in February and will continue through the summer.
Jobs range from lifeguards and landscapers to golf course and day camp workers.
Officials say the only thing bigger than the number of part-time spots available is the public response.
"As far as our summer, it just picks up," says Shalesse Pie, superintendent of human resources for the park district. "We'll receive at the end of our summer at least two-thousand, if not more, applications for our summer and seasonal workers."
