By: Bob Larson
Updated: April 12, 2012
Two Tremont men, indicted in connection with a home invasion and a brief police standoff last month, pleaded NOT GUILTY Thursday. 22 year old Curtis Popejoy is charged with home invasion, attempted armed robbery and aggravated discharge of a firearm while 28 year old Timothy Johnson was named in the same charges plus unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. The charges stem from a March home invasion in Morton in which one person was shot in the ear. The incident ended with a brief police standoff in Pekin. Both suspects remain behind bars on three quarter million dollar bond. They will be back in court May 4th.
