PEORIA - One Bradley organization is taking action against cancer through an act of solidarity.
Pi Kappa Alpha held its fifth annual benefit for the Saint Baldrick's foundation this afternoon.
Students, staff, and even nearby residents shaved their heads to raise money for childhood cancer research.
Organizers say the event has been growing, but were overwhelmed by this year's turnout.
"Honestly, I can't even put it into words," says Mike Donovitch, a member of Pi Kappa Alpha and the chair for the event. "I'm so proud of our organization. I'm so proud of the whole foundation itself. I'm speechless."
Forty-six people shaved their heads Thursday.
More than fifteen-thousand dollars was raised from this year's benefit for Saint Baldrick's.
