PEORIA- The city of Peoria says steps are being made to make renovations on the George Washington Carver Center as soon as possible.
Peoria's special projects manager Chris Setti says the center's roof is leaking and needs to be fixed quickly to prevent future damage.
As we told you last night, the Peoria city council voted to continue discussion on six Southtown TIF projects, including renovations on the closed community center.
The Peoria city council still has to approve the use of $165,000 Southtown TIF for improvements. Setti says that could happen within the next few weeks.
The city does not know how much it will cost to fix the roof.
