PEORIA- A former District 150 Public Schools employee is suing the Peoria school district claiming racial discrimination.
Mary Davis filed a federal lawsuit against District 150 Public Schools for allegedly treating her differently because she is white.
Davis claims she was wrongly fired because of her race. Davis served as the district's chief academic officer until she was fired in 2010.
She was charged with theft and official misconduct for allegedly making unauthorized withdrawals from school funds while serving as principal at Lindbergh Middle School.
But she claims African-American employees were accused of much worse allegations and were not fired. This is not the first time District 150 has been sued for racial discrimination.
In 2009, a group of white employees at Trewyn Middle School filed similar charges.
