You've heard the saying "Nobody is perfect." That may be true, unless your name is Luc Joseph of East Peoria. The 220 Pound Junior is 41-0 on the season, and has eyes for a state title.
"Watching him workout, it's obvious Luc Joseph has put in the time to earn a state berth.
"Going hard is an everyday thing. In this room, coach Johns is a big proponent of going hard
everyday and your body gets conditioned so that you don't need days off,"said Luc Joseph, East Peoria Junior.
"We wanted to give him the day off after a great sectional tournament. He told us he wanted
to be here today," said Zach Fleming, East Peoria Assistant Coach.
Luc is relentless on the mat. He says he enters the wrestling room, he has only one speed.
"There hasn't been a match where I havent been confident going in and confident the
entire time on the mat. Most of the time I go out here, the second and third period are my periods," said Joseph. "I win those everytime."
He's not just winning, but domination. He's won every match by at least 4 points. But he is also
cautious and knows, this time of year, records go out the window.
"Doesn't matter if they didn't win a single match all season until regionals. They got here and are
a dangerous opponent. They could go undefeated the rest of the season from here, and that is what really matters," said Joseph."
The state tournament starts in Champaign on Thursday.
