Lisa is originally from Lockport, a southwest suburb of Chicago. She graduated with highest honors in broadcast journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She received her master's degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield in public affairs reporting.
Lisa joined WMBD 31 in July 2003 in the Bloomington bureau. She moved to the Peoria newsroom in March 2004. She co-anchors our morning and noon newscasts while continuing to report several stories a month.
She's been honored by the Illinois Broadcasters Association twice. In 2005, she won the Silver Dome Award for best hard news story for her coverage of the Utica tornado. She took home third place for best hard news story in 2006.
Before coming to WMBD 31, Lisa was a sports reporter for various newspapers in Illinois. She's also worked at WJOL-AM in Joliet and reported for WICS-TV in Springfield, Ill.
Lisa enjoys being part of the community. She's been an emcee at PAWS Bark in the Park and Art on the Prairie for the Cancer Center for Healthy Living. Lisa's also helped with the Easter Seals telethon and Wines on the Prairie. She's currently on the Board of Directors for The Center for Prevention of Abuse. She's also a co-host of the Santa Claus Parade in downtown Peoria.
In her spare time, Lisa loves to cook and bake, workout and cheer on Illinois sports. Go Illini!
