Donnie is a graduate from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale,
Illinois. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mass
Communications in order to begin a career as a broadcaster. In his
senior year at SIU, he was chosen as Radio-Television student of the
year. In 2003, after graduating from SIU, Donnie immediately joined
WHOI-TV as a Sports reporter/anchor. Since, he has traveled across the
United States covering numerous sporting events including 2005 NCAA
Final Four, Super Bowl XLI 2006 World Series, and numerous other
championship games.
In 2009, Donnie joined WMBD-TV as a Weekend
Sport Anchor, helping assist the market's top sports department. In
2010, Donnie made the switch from sports to news to help co-anchor WMBD
31 News This Morning. In addition, Donnie does "up to the minute"
sports updates for ESPN radio in Peoria. Donnie is proud to call Peoria
home though his hometown is Romeoville, Illinois, located just south of
downtown Chicago. Born in Chicago, Donnie will always call Illinois
his home state.
In his spare time Donnie enjoys playing
basketball, bowling, traveling, and movies. He says his goal is to
provide the best news for the Central Illinois viewing audience.
