PEORIA -- Bradley University announces the creation of the Center for STEM Education Wednesday afternoon.
As science and technology permeate our everyday lives, the center's mission is to improve education in science, technology, engineering and math.
Educators say American students are lagging behind in math and science education and Bradley President Joanne Glasser says now is the time to reverse that trend, "If our young people are going to thrive in the 21st century they truly need the problem solving and thinking skills that are inherent in science and mathematics."
Along with career opportunities and K-12 STEM education, the center will also focus on research and collaboration.
