Reported by: Meg Marshall- WMBD/WYZZ Wednesday, Nov 18, 2009 @10:39pm CST Peoria -- We continue our special series on organ transplant and donation and the wait many patients face as they hope for a second chance at life.
Eric Bolder is a bowler, an active volleyball player and enjoys playing with his two young sons. Earlier this summer, he went to see his doctor for a routine check-up, and ended up seeing a kidney specialist. With no family history of kidney disease, the news came as a shock to Eric and his wife, Sonya. After a battery of tests, doctors still aren't sure why Eric’s kidneys are failing. But they are certain he will need a transplant. Eric’s brother and sisters have stepped forward to be tested, as well as several friends. The Bolders are now just waiting until the right donor is found. . |
