  • Hanna City Murder Suspect Pleads NOT GUILTY

    Thursday, Nov 5, 2009 @07:06pm CST

A Hanna City man, indicted by the grand jury for the murder of his mother in law and attempted murder of his estranged wife last month, pleaded NOT GUILTY Thursday. Those charges against 40 year old Joesph Saric stem from a weekend shooting which left Saric's mother in law dead and his estranged wife seriously wounded. Authorities say 63 year old Geraldine Worske died in the attack while Crystal Saric was shot four times but survived. She managed to drive to a nearby church for help. The couple was in the midst of a divorce at the time of the shootings. The Peoria County State's Attorney has not yet decided whether to seek the death penalty if Saric is convicted. Saric, whose being held on three million dollar bond, will be back in court January 4th.
