WMBD/WYZZ-TV - EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- Illinois Central College has taken its first step towards appearing in its sixth straight volleyball national tournament.

The Lady Cougars rolled over Springfield College, 25-12, 25-18 and 25-15 in the District playoff match at Ramsey Gymnasium Wednesday. The Cougars (27-4) advance to the Region XXIV Tournament this weekend at Shawnee Community College.

Winning the Region XXIV Tournament will send ICC to the National Junior College Athletic Association Div. II tournament at Wisconsin Dells Nov. 19-21.
