Peoria City/County Health Department officials reported today the first confirmed death related to the H1N1 influenza virus.
The Peoria City/County Health Department communicable disease staff followed up with the hospital to learn that the 46-year old female was admitted to the hospital October 16 with multiple underlying medical conditions and passed away on November 2.
So far, Peoria County has not held any H1N1 clinics because they don't have an adequate supply of the vaccine available.
