Reported by: WMBD/WYZZ TV News Staff Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 @05:38pm CST As we approach the holidays, a new study may have you thinking twice about what you put under the Christmas tree. The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act was signed into law last year. Now the first testing since it was signed shows several toys on Illinois store shelves with lead and some industrial compounds over the legal limit. Toys like the Alligator Cell Phone Charm and Cupcake Clip Watch from Claire’s, as well as the Marvel Heroes Hot Rodz. Advocates say just because a toy is on the shelf doesn’t mean its safe.
