  • Murder Case Dismissed in McLean County

    Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 @05:40pm CST

In a surprise move Tuesday afternoon, the McLean County State's Attorney's office sought to drop the murder case against 23 year old Joshua McGuire of Bloomington. McGuire was charged in the stabbing death of Joshua Embry last November. In a late afternoon news release, State's Attorney Bill Yoder says new information has developed which has caused prosecutors to file a motion to dismiss the case at this time. Last month police seized items from the McLean County chapter of the American Outlaw Association in connection with the case. Authorities wouldn't say at the time what was taken or whether this prompted Tuesday's action to dismiss the case against McGuire. 26 year old Embry was stabbed to death near a Bloomington bar. Authorities say the investigation into Embry's death is ongoing.
