Reported by: I Tuesday, Oct 27, 2009 @03:24pm CDT PEORIA - Pekin residents looking for new cable options will soon have a new company to consider.
Peoria-based OmniLEC entered into a franchise agreement with Pekin City Council Monday night. The company will offer cable television, phone and internet service for the next 25 years. While service will begin in Pekin OmniLEC plans on expanding to serve Morton, Washington and Peoria by February. Still, the company founder says they're already gaining demand. "That's an understatement we have actually been pummeled with phone calls even since the franchise agreement from yesterday." said OmniLec Founder Mike Schuler. Schuler says packages for video, cable and phone service should be between $99 to $109. Exact prices for services will be out next week. |
