The two candidates most likely to hear their names called first are Bradley outfielder Dan Brewer and ISU catcher Kevin Dubler. Brewer was one of the Braves' top players, hitting .341 with six homers and 36 RBI in his junior season. Brewer can play second base or in the outfield. "He's definitely a unique individual," said Dewey Kalmer, Brewer's coach at Bradley. "He was an All-State player, heavily-recruited. He's always been a good hitter. Everywhere he's gone, he's hit. If you can hit, you can play." Dubler was ISU's top hitter. He hit .358 with nine homers and 58 RBI for the Redbirds. |
