    A bill to ensure hotel taxes in East Peoria and Morton are at the same level as Peoria's, passed the Illinois House Friday and is awaiting the governor's signature. The bill has already passed the Illinois Senate. The purpose of the bill is make sure there's no advantage or disadvantage to anyone regarding hotel taxes. It's estimated the new law could generate up to 150 thousand dollars for the Convention and Visitors Bureau to help draw more tourists to the area.
