A Republican sponsored measure to give Illinois drivers some relief from high gasoline prices failed to move out of committee Tuesday. Illinois House Republicans called on Democrats to allow debate for the temporary lifting of the state's sales tax on gasoline. However, their request was shot down. According to the Illinois General Assembly website, the bill has been bottled up in committee since March.
