Reported by: Sarah Barwacz - WMBD/WYZZ TV Tuesday, Apr 29, 2008 @05:58pm CDT WMBD/WYZZ TV – PEORIA -- Three former Bradley students serving jail
time for a prank that killed BU soccer player Danny Dahlquist won't be allowed
back in school. Two Bradley students are dead, in each incident alcohol played a role.
Now Bradley University is taking action. Bradley's President asked the
committee of students and faculty to find ways to lower campus drinking issues. Some highlights
of the plan include upping campus alcohol enforcement, targeting incoming
freshman on drinking responsibly, and giving students more late night, alcohol
free activities. With all the changes, Bradley opts to not become a dry campus. They
say, it would not be enforceable, but are hopeful their alcohol recommendations
will make a difference. Bradley University officials say they plan to keep the
alcohol action committee active for the next few years. They expect to see a
change in students drinking habits within four years. |
