Lansing (12-7) completed a 3-game sweep of Peoria with the win. Chiefs manager Ryne Sandberg was ejected from the game for arguing with home plate umpire Ben May. After Chiefs outfielder Kyler Burke had hit an apparent home run, May ruled the ball was foul. Sandberg heated protest earned him his second ejection of the season. Peoria's lone run came on an RBI double by Josh Donaldson in the fifth inning. The Chiefs (7-13) finished their second road trip of the season with a 1-5 record. The Chiefs have an off day Thursday before opening a 6-game home stand Friday. |
