ILL.-- Michelle Henderson and Amber Smith combined for six RBI, capped off by Smith’s walk-off home run in the bottom of the sixth inning, as Illinois State snapped Creighton's nine-game winning streak with a 9-0 win in the nightcap of a Missouri Valley Conference softball doubleheader Monday. Creighton (36-14, 14-3 in MVC) ralied with two runs in the seventh inning to win the opener of the twinbill, 3-2. The games were made-up from a doubleheader rained out last month. ISU (21-18, 11-6 MVC) run-ruled the Bluejays in the second game following homers from Henderson and Smith. Junior hurler Rachel Smith pitched a complete game shutout in the circle for the Redbirds |
