Reported by: WMBD/WYZZ TV - Sarah Barwacz Thursday, Jun 25, 2009 @05:47pm CDT As unemployment continues to
skyrocket - a bill that would create jobs is collecting dust in The 29 billion dollar capital bill
has passed both the house and the senate. But legislatures say the bill hasn't
been forwarded to Quinn because the governor won't look at the plan until a
state's budget is passed first. Comptroller Dan Hynes says
the governor's hard stance on the budget is 'inciting fear and panic in
people.' Meanwhile, the Illinois Department of Transportation, and area unions
say the capital bill would help get many local residents out of the
unemployment line. The bill could go to the governor as early as next week. |
