lorio@wmbd.com Lori joined WMBD in November of 2007 as a reporter and weekend anchor. Though this is a new career, her passion for news and writing surfaced early in life. Lori has a B.S. in journalism from the University of Colorado in Boulder. After finishing her degree, her love of language and learning about other cultures took her to Spain for a year where she studied at the University of Madrid, and taught English at a local school. When she returned to the U.S., Lori went back to school to complete an M.A. in International Communication at American University in Washington, D.C. She worked in D.C. for several years before returning to her hometown of Denver to work in the medical industry for Johnson & Johnson. Despite the detours, Lori’s passion for news, and the desire to be a reporter, wouldn‘t go away. After completing an internship at the ABC affiliate in Denver, Lori made the move to Peoria and hasn’t looked back. She says she's overwhelmed by how welcoming and generous the people of Central Illinois are. Lori loves language and travel, and having grown up in Colorado, is a big fan of any outdoor recreation from snow skiing to hiking and riding bikes. Her favorite activity, and the one she misses most, is spending time with her niece, Adelaide. |
