Normal Police arrested 65-year-old Sam Shepard around 2 a.m. this morning. He was pulled over for speeding and allegedly driving drunk on the 700 block of North Main Street.

Police say Shepard was on his way to a hotel. He had been at the bar "Fat Jacks" in downtown Bloomington. Shepard's blood alcohol level was reportedly twice the legal limit.

He says he was passing through the Twin Cities while on his way home to Kentucky. Shepard posted bond and was released earlier today.  People might know him best from the movies "Black Hawk Down" and "The Notebook."
