The purpose is to help librarians better understand how students conduct research projects. The university was one of five institutions awarded a $177,000 grant for the study. IWU will work alongside Northeastern Illinois, DePaul, the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Illinois at Springfield. Librarians will study the students using mapping diaries, interviews, photo surveys and observation.
