Reported by: WMBD/WYZZ News Staff Monday, Oct 6, 2008 @05:25pm CDT WMBD/WYZZ— Bloomington— October is the most dangerous month for teen drivers, according to a State Farm study. Findings from the five-year study show October to have the highest number of teen auto insurance claims, with a 20 percent jump over any other month. State Farm says parents may be unknowingly contributing to teens' risky driving by using cell phones or driving when tired. In a State Farm survey, many parents are not following advice they give to their teens, setting dangerous examples for young, inexperienced drivers. State Farm will be hosting events and talking to driver education classes about driver safety during “National Teen Driver Safety Week” beginning October 19.
