Earthquake In Central Illinois

WMBD/WYZZ TV - PEORIA -- The Illinois Department of Transportation is having inspectors examine all bridges and structures in the aftermath of this morning's earthquake. The National Weather Service confirms that just after 4:30 this morning, parts of Central Illinois experienced a slight earthquake, or tremble. IDOT offiicials say as of now, there are no reports of any damages.
The Unites States Geological Survey confirms the earthquake was at a 5.2 on the richter scale at the Epicenter near Mount Carmel in Southeast Illinois.Since the quake was above 4.6 on the scale seismographs across the world were able to pick up the movement.
Other states that also experienced the earthquake were Indiana, Missouri, Kentucky and Tennessee.
We received calls this morning from several viewers saying they were woken early this morning, some even said they had pictures fall off their walls.
